LU HONGCHENG
·Personal Information
Dr. Hongcheng Lu was born in 1987 in Yueyang, China and currently Professor in School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He obtained his bachelor's degree and Ph.D in Materials Science from Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2008 and 2014, respectively. He conducted all his PhD research work on synthesis, crystal structure and characterization of novel nonlinear optical materials under supervision of Professor Kenneth R. Poeppelmeier in Department of Chemistry at Northwestern University in USA during 2010-2014. From 2014 to 2018, he worked as a Postdoctoral fellow with Professor Hiroshi Kageyama in Department of Energy and Hydrocarbon Chemistry at Kyoto University in Japan, Professor Tyrel McQueen in Department of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University, Professor Sara Haravifard in Department of Physics at Duke University in USA. Then he joined as a faculty in School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in January 2019 and now is directing inorganic solid state chemistry laboratory. As an inorganic solid state chemist and materials scientist, his research interests are mainly focused on rational design, synthesis, structure determination, single crystal growth and characterization of novel inorganic or hybrid functional crystal materials including low dimensional quantum materials, nonlinear optical materials, piezoelectric materials.
