Zhang Shuhao is a Professor in the School of Computer Science and Technology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on distributed systems, high-performance systems, and AI infrastructure. He is currently leading the SageLLM project, with research centered on LLM inference systems for domestic hardware, including inference engines, distributed inference, KV cache and memory management, service scheduling, and operator/kernel optimization. His work aims to build high-performance and self-controlled software infrastructure for large language model serving.
He previously served as a tenure-track Assistant Professor and independent PI at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and conducted postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Berlin. He has led more than ten national and industry-funded projects and published over 40 papers in top-tier venues such as SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, NeurIPS, SC, TKDE, VLDB Journal, and Nature Communications.
