主要研究方向为组织光学理论,荧光扩散光学断层成像,定量荧光分子断层成像,多模态光学分子成像和高通量结构光显微成像。担任教育部高等学校生物医学工程类专业教学指导委员会副秘书长、中国生物医学工程学会教育工作委员会副主任委员、生物医学工程实践教学联盟副理事长。仪器仪表学会近红外光谱分会理事。
主持或参与完成国家自然科学基金项目《实时高分辨扩散光学断层成像方法研究》,《癌症早期检测的偏振散射光谱术》,国家自然科学基金国际合作项目《飞秒激光双光子显微成像仪器》, 国家高技术研究发展计划(863计划)《小动物活体光学分子成像装置》,国家科技支撑计划项目《基于荧光层析/CT 双模成像的分子影像关键技术研究》,国家高技术研究发展计划(863计划)《基于数字人体的生理组学研究与应用》以及《生物功能信息的整合、模拟与可视化》。授权专利11项。登记软件著作权6项。在APL、OL、OE、COL、物理学报等国际国内权威期刊上以第一作者或通讯作者发表学术论文40余篇。译著《生物医学光学:原理与成像》(中国科技大学出版社出版),参编专著《生物分子光子学研究前沿》(上海交通大学出版社出版)和《近红外光谱手册》(机械工业出版社出版)。获得2011年大学生科技创新活动优秀指导教师,2008年中国光学重要成果奖。
