Abstract:
This paper introduces a new analytical approach to the conservation and renovation of the historical and cultural blocks as an iteration and regeneration of the urban fabric. We use the Guloudong block on the northern slope of Snake Mountain in Wuchang city as an example to put this method into practice, and strive to explore the new ideas of "form-finding" and "analysis" in the design from three aspects. They are texture weaving (deliberation of the city texture based on urban design method), spatial rhythm (cross-translation and comparison of music and spatial rhythms), and block microclimate (multi-scale analysis of microclimate simulation and green technologies).
