Mengtao Han, male, Ph.D.,born in January 1987,is an associate professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and vice dean of the Architecture Department. After getting his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2020, he continued his research career as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. He was also a young scientists researcher fellow of The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). He moved to his current position in February 2021.
His main research fields are urban microclimate, air pollutants and disaster prevention, and green architecture and energy-saving technology.
He has published tens of papers in high-level journals and international conferences. He is a member of the youth editor boards of the International SCI journal Building Simulation and a reviewer of several SCI journals.
He has presided over projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Japan Society for the Promotion of Science,
participated in two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, one scientific research and development project of
Wuhan Municipal Construction Commission, a demonstration project of energy-saving reconstruction of existing public buildings
in Wuhan City loaned by French Development Agency, and participated in the design of over 10 large public buildings such as
cultural complex, high-speed railway supporting complex, large theater, and commercial complex.
He is permanently recruiting international students who are interested in the development of green buildings, the built environment,
and related technologies and can communicate in Chinese, English, or Japanese.
