华中科技大学二级教授，教育部新世纪人才，湖北省楚天学者。自1996年开始系统地研究继电保护基础理论及系列关键技术，2007年起将新能源发电及运行与继电保护控制相结合，其后拓展至智能电网与电力传输的其他研究方向。目前为止，主持包括2项国家自然科学基金重点项目、1项国家重点研发计划在内的项目40余项，发表包括ESI高被引论文在内的学术论文454篇，其中IEEE Trans. 42篇，Intl J. Elec Power Sys 20篇，SCI检索合计201篇。...
