Profile
LIU Helin is professor of urban planning and advisor of planning PhD students, working in the school of architecture and urban planning, HUST. He got his Ph.D. degree in land economy in the University of Cambridge and worked as a post-doctoral research associate in 4CMR and LISA in Cambridge. He won the ‘youth five four Medal’ in HUST in 2017 and Excellence Youth Award by the Planning Alumni Association of Nanjing University in 2017.
His research interests are urban and regional innovation and development (innovation economy), big data and AI for planning decision support, urban and regional spatial structure(network of the flow space), and adaptive planning in the context of climate change (low-carbon planning). In terms of planning practice, he has good expertise in spatial planning, regional planning, and comprehensive planning. In recent years, he has authored two three books in Chinese and one book in English; He worked as translator of one book, chief-editor of a book series, and published more than five books with other scholars as cooperators. He also published more than 40 peer-reviewed Chinese and English journal articles.
