刘曾，博士，华中科技大学船舶与海洋工程学院副教授，博士生导师。2008年至2015年，在上海交通大学船舶海洋与建筑工程学院攻读硕士与博士学位，其间于2014年在麻省理工学院机械工程系（原海洋工程系）联合培养一年。2015年获上海交通大学工学博士学位。
致力于非线性海浪动力学研究，从平衡态角度研究水波共振，理论上扩展了平衡态共振水波的存在范围、提出了有限振幅平衡态共振水波的一般解法，实验上验证了平衡态共振波的存在性，完善了不同水深下表面重力波的波能转移机制，揭示了水深和密度对内波波系演化的影响。在本领域知名期刊（如《Journal of Fluid Mechanics》、《Physics of Fluids》与《Ocean Engineering》等）上共发表20余篇SCI论文。
