Profile

After obtaining his PhD degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in 2006, Dr. Zhichun Liu served as an assistant professor in the school of energy and power engineering at HUST, then in 2009 was promoted to associate professor, until in 2014 was thereafter promoted to full professor. Professor Liu’s research focuses on electronic cooling, theoretical and experimental investigations of Loop Heat Pipe (LHP) and Capillary Pumped Loop (CPL), convective heat transfer enhancement/optimization and its applications, Micro/Nano scale heat and mass transfer, and heat and mass transfer in PEM fuel cells, etc. Professor Liu was a visiting scholar in Professor Gang Chen’s group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from Nov. 2011 to Dec. 2012, where he worked on solving phonon Boltzmann transport equation using a Monte Carlo approach to model the heat transport in nanostructured materials. Professor Liu has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and obtained 16 invention patents.
