- 摘要:
- Many housing projects Asian cities still exhibit a high degree of homogeneity in regard to construction models, spatial layouts, and architectural components. This homogeneity in residential spaces obstructs their ability to cater to the specific living habits of households and adapt to changing urban environments. This paper proposes the concept of Light Customized Design (LCD) and explores adaptive architectural strategies for rehabilitating existing living spaces and constructing new housing. Through in-situ surveys, spatial mapping, and semi-structured interviews with households in China’s Yichang and Changsha, this paper summarizes the spatial characteristics and problems of existing housing projects, as well as analyzes occupants’ daily routines. It then develops an LCD-oriented framework for establishing adaptive home spaces. The LCD working framework emphasizes the importance of involving households throughout the design, with designers engaging with occupants regarding daily activities and collaborating with them for idea sharing and blueprint envisioning of ideal homes. Through a co-creative process, a “literal residential space” (daily life script) is architected, and later customized into physical and flexible housing layout that equipped with light architectural elements. This approach enables occupants to self-customize their residential spaces and establish desired life scenes through soft and micro-scale interventions.
