I have long been engaged in the research and practice of urban and rural planning. The main research directions are urban design, urban and rural spatial forms and rural planning. I have presided over and participated in more than 10 national and provincial-level scientific research projects; I have presided over more than 100 various types of planning and design projects; among them, I have won six provincial and ministerial-level outstanding planning and design awards. I have published more than 30 academic papers and edited 3 books.

Since 1993, I have been engaged in urban and rural planning education for the past 25 years. I mainly teaches courses such as "Modern Urban Planning Theory and Methodology" for undergraduates, "Urban Design" and "Principles of Urban Comprehensive planning"for undergraduates. Instructed students to win more than 20 awards in various types of curriculum design competitions, and won the “Three Educators Award”, “Top Ten Excellent Teachers” and “Excellent Advisors” of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
