·Personal Information
Jinyu Wen is a Changjiang Scholar Chair Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), the director of State Key Laboratory of Advanced Electromagnetic Engineering and Technology (AEET), and the head of SGO Power and Energy Laboratory. He received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees all in electrical engineering from HUST, China, in 1992 and 1998, respectively. He worked as visiting research fellow at the University of Liverpool, UK and the University of Texas at Arlington, USA for more than two years. He has studied power system low frequency oscillation in theory and put forward some useful damping methods. He has been devoting to use new technologies including energy storage and flexible HVDC to improve the power system stabilities and to integrate large scale renewable energy into power system. He successfully developed China's first mobile direct-cooling high temperature superconducting magnetic energy storage system, proposed lots of new DC converter topologies and their active control technologies such as MMC plus, DC autotransformer and active converter, some of them have been applied in ultra-high voltage hybrid multi-terminal DC transmission projects of Kunliulong, and Baihetan-Jiangsu et al. He has published more than 300 academic papers, more than 10 of them are high cited papers, obtained more than 70 Chinese patents and 4 US and Europe patents.
