Dr. ZHANG Wenjun, born in Xiantao of Hubei, received a PhD in Materials Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong in 2010 and an MPhil in Applied Chemistry from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2006. Dr. Zhang had scientific research experiences in the City University of Hong Kong, Fudan University and Queen Mary University of London as Research Associate, Postdoctoral Fellow and Marie Curie Academic Visiting Scholar. He took a faculty position from School of Materials Science and Engineering in Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2013. His early research focused in the fabrication of micro/nano materials and their applications in the diagnosis chip/device and optical/electrochemical sensor. Currently, the main research interest is in the design/fabrication of nanostructured carbon materials and exploring their applications. Dr. Zhang had over 30 peer-reviewed papers published in the academic journals such as Lab Chip, Small, JACS, JPCC and 2 Chinese patents. His research was mainly funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China, State Key Laboratory of Material Processing and Die and Mould Technology and Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2014, Dr. Zhang was titled as HUST Scholar (Early Career) by the University.
