Dan Wu received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2012. He then pursued his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, WI, USA, completing them in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Wu worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, from 2017 to 2019, and then as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Lab for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at MIT, from 2019 to 2022. Dr. Wu was also a Senior Analyst at Equinor US Holdings Inc. from 2022 to 2023. Currently, he is a Professor with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.


Dr. Wu's research interests lie in the areas of nonlinear dynamics and optimization, electric power systems, natural gas networks, interdependent complex systems, and geometric and topological methods in engineering applications. He has published several peer-reviewed research papers in top-tier journals and has served as invited guest editors. He has also presented his research at various international conferences and has served as conference panel chairs. He actively collaborates with researchers and industry professionals to solve real-world problems and create innovative solutions that make a positive social impact.
