Effects of environmental exposure on maternal and infant health

Hits:

Environmental pollutants such as environmental endocrine disruptors can increase the risk of metabolic diseases (such as obesity, hypertension, etc.), nervous system development disorders (such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, etc.), and respiratory system allergic diseases (such as asthma, asthma, etc.) in children. The embryonic period and neonatal period are important periods for rapid growth and organ system development of children. The immature metabolic system, nervous system and respiratory system are very sensitive to any external factors that can interfere with the development process. Adverse environmental exposure in early life, such as environmental endocrine disruptors, malnutrition of mothers, obesity, smoking, infection, endocrine disorders and psychological trauma, can have adverse effects on fetuses and infants, and increase the risk of various diseases in children. My research interests are to explore the role and mechanism of prenatal and postnatal environmental exposure in the development of metabolic diseases, to verify important etiological hypotheses, provide a theoretical basis for improving the health level of the next generation.
