- Lignin valorization with artificial cell/cell-free systems
- Biosynthesis of bioplastic (PHB) with synthetic bacteria
- Biosynthesis and bioconversion of biomedical compounds
- Enzyme engineering with unnatural amino acid and in vivo directed evolution
2. Environmental Microbiology Technology
- Bioremediation of refractory pollutants
- Resource recovery of agricultural and industrial wastes
- Co-metabolism mechanism of biomass and xenobiotics
3. Macromolecular biomaterials
- Biological modification of lignin for macromolecular biomaterials
- Synthesis of lignocellulose-based polymer composites
- Functional biomaterials with PHB, collagen, polysaccharide and lignin
