Jinyang Yang is an Assistant Professor at HUST School of Economics, research fellow at Global Labor Organization (GLO). His research areas include applied microeconomics, and international trade. In his research, he poses the question how to improve health and well-being of the most disadvantaged groups, including children, the elderly, women, and low-income households. Jinyang obtained his Ph.D in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech, with a simultaneous Master's degree in Data Analysis and Applied Statistics. Before coming to Virginia Tech, he worked as a Postgraduate Fellow for two years at Yale School of Public Health. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in economics at Northwest A & F University, China.
