Abstract: Magnetization of TiC–10TiN–xMC–yNi (MC = Mo2C, WC, y= 20, 40 mol%) cermets was investigated. RT Ms of Mo2C-containing cermets decreased non-linearly with increasing x, and it tended to zero at x = 8 for y = 20 and x ≥ 6 for y = 40. At x = 8, Curie temperature Tc of Mo2C-containing cermets was about 50 K for y = 20 and 116 K for y = 40, respectively. RT Ms of WC-containing cermets initially decreased, then increased and decreased again with increasing x, and it had the minimum at x = 4. At the same x and y, Mo2C-containing cermets had lower RT Ms than WC-containing ceremts.
