周华民，1974年7月生，湖南永州人。先后获国家杰出青年科学基金、长江学者特聘教授、国家万人计划领军人才、百千万人才工程国家级人选、中国青年科技奖、国家有突出贡献中青年专家、国务院政府特殊津贴等。担任华中科技大学材料成形与模具技术国家重点实验室主任，学院院长，兼任国务院学位委员会学科评议组成员、教育部科技委委员、中国兵工学会精密成形工程专委会主任等。先后担任14个期刊编委等。主要从事材料成形仿真软件与智能装备研究，发表论著400余篇，授权发明专利100余项，出版专著教材10余部。获国家科技进步二等奖4项（分别排名第1、1、3、5）、国家自然科学二等奖1项（排名第3）、国家教学成果二等奖1项（排名第1）。
