Gao Shangbang, male, professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, received his doctorate in biophysics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2008. From 2008 to 2015, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute of University of Toronto. In 2016, he was selected into the National Thousand Talents Program for the 12th Batch of Young People. In November 2015, he was appointed professor and doctoral supervisor of College of Life Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.He mainly uses the techniques of molecular biology, electrophysiology, optogenetics and optical imaging to study the neural circuits and molecular mechanisms of animal motor behavior. The results of a series of studies are of great significance for the prevention and treatment of diseases related to the motor nervous system. In the past 5 years, he has published more than 10 research papers in international top journals such as Neuron,ACS Nano,PNAS,Elife,Nature Commun.,Small, Molecular Cell, etc., and has also written invited reviews and book chapters. Since 2016, Professor Gao Shangbang, as the leader of the project and the backbone of the college's scientific research, has undertaken one of the national Natural Science Foundation of China's key cooperation projects, two general projects, Hubei Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund and Wuhan Science and Technology Innovation Fund.
