Dr. Bo Wang was born in May 1985, Wuhan, China. He finished his undergraduate study at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, as a Bachelor in Automation, and obtained his Master’s degree in Control Theory and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University China. In 2017 he obtained his PhD degree in Electronic Engineering at University of Pretoria, South Africa. During his PhD study he mainly focused on energy system optimization, especially the building energy retrofitting and maintenance plan optimization. He has published several original research articles at top journals such as Energy and Buildings，Energy and IEEE Transactions on Control System Technology. He has also made a number of conference contributions to international conferences such as IEEE Conference on Decision and Control，IFAC World Congress and International Conference on Applied Energy. His current research interests lie within the energy system and complex system optimization, with a research focus on optimization under uncertainty.
