Yifei Yu joined Huazhong University of Science and Technology as a professor in 2023. She obtained her MPhil and PhD degrees in Optoelectronics from University of Cambridge working on optical fibre sensing in 2012 and 2017. She worked as an Assistant Professor (research-focus) at the Energy Innovation Centre of the University of Warwick with responsibility for leading research on battery sensing and diagnostic through a range of different academic and industrial projects. Prof. Yu has been awarded more than two million pounds research grants by the UK government and industrial sponsors. Her research portfolio covers from optical fibre sensing to multi-physics data interpretation, mainly for transport electrification and renewable energy applications.
