CAI Chao, PhD, Associate Professor, School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He graduated from Shandong Qufu Normal University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics in 1994. He received his Master of Science degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1997. In 2005, he received a Ph.D. degree in engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and won the university-level Doctoral Dissertation Award in 2006. 1997.4-2002.10 Taught at the Department of Mathematics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (now Huazhong University of Science and Technology); 2002.10-present: Institute of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence (now School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation), Huazhong University of Science and Technology. At present, his main research works include computer vision, automatic target recognition and tracking, unmanned aerial vehicle mission planning, medical image processing, embedded real-time processing system, etc. As project leader, he has presided over more than 40 projects, including the national 863 program, the aerospace foundation projects, the Natural Science Foundation projects of Hubei Province, the Aviation Science Foundation and the national defense horizontal projects, and obtained 4 national invention patents. He has published more than 50 academic papers, 15 of which are indexed by SCI and 30 by EI/ISTP.
