Qiang Cao, Doctor, Doctoral supervisor, a Full Professor of Wuhan Optoelectronic National Laboratory as well as School of Computer Science and Technology, at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He graduated from Nanjing University with Bachelor of applied physics in 1997. He received the master degree with computer application in 2000, and the PHD degree with computer architecture in 2003 respectively, from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Since the graduation in 2003, he has been at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology. From July 2008 to July 2009, he had been a visiting scholar at the university of Nebraska-Lincoln. The main research areas include computer system architecture, large-scale and highly-efficient storage system, emerging storage device and system design, long-term storage, near data processing, etc.
He is IEEE Senor Member, ACM Senor Member, Sensor Member of China Computer Federation. He has more than 60 publications in major journals and international conferences in these research areas, including IEEE Trans. On Computer, IEEE Trans. On Parallel and Distributed Systems, ACM Trans. On Storage, JNCA, USENIX ATC, Eurosys, SOCC, IPDPS, ICS, DSN, etc. He holds more than 40 China and US patents. He has graduated 16 PHD and 32 Master students.
