胡树兵，1963年7月生，男，博士，湖北武汉人。现为华中科技大学材料科学与工程学院教授，博士生导师。2005-2016年任材料科学与技术系支部书记。2005-2012年任材料成形与模具技术国家重点实验室副主任，现任中国汽车工程学会汽车材料分会理事，湖北省热处理学会理事长，湖北省理化检验学会副理事长，武汉机械工程学会理事。曾获湖北省高等学校跨世纪学术骨干称号。2015年华中科技大学课程责任教授。2019年评为华中卓越学者。

Description of Research Group:主要从事材料表面强化技术研究，研究激光强化（激光熔凝、激光熔覆、激光合金化、激光冲击强化）技术、PVD多元涂层和多层涂层技术、热喷涂技术、超疏水涂层技术、搪瓷涂层技术、精密再制造技术。研究生物材料和高端医疗器械，主要涉及可降解人工骨材料、肿瘤光热疗和诊断多功能一体化纳米材料。为企业进行失效分析，解决关键难题。现有教师1名，博士研究生4名，硕士研究生10人。常年招收博士后，博士研究生和硕士研究生
