His research mainly focuses on designing and implementing novel reliability mechanisms, based on fault-tolerance (such as Network Coding or Erasure coding), to improve reliability, performance and security for storage systems, which include cloud storage, big-data storage, deduplicated backup, heterogeneous/hierarchical storage, in-memory NoSQL database etc.
