李岩，华中科技大学基础医学院与人畜共患传染病重症诊治全国重点实验室三级教授，博士生导师，病原生物学系党支部书记，同济医院双聘教授，国家高层次青年人才项目，湖北省杰青，湖北省公共卫生青年拔尖人才。目前担任湖北省医学会微生物与免疫学分会副主任委员、教育部病毒学领域教学资源建设项目专家、Wiley旗下VIEW Medicine副主编、Journal of Cellular Biochemistry编委、Military Medical Research青年编委以及The BMJ等二十余个期刊审稿人。于中国科学技术大学获得学士学位，新加坡南洋理工大学获得博士学位，在新加坡科技研究局试验治疗中心从事多年的新药研究工作。

课题组利用生物化学、分子生物学、结构生物学、人工智能、微生物学等多种方法探究包括新冠病毒、利什曼原虫在内等重要病原微生物致病的分子机制，并针对性的开发新型的干预手段。目前课题组申请专利多项，参与的多个新药研发项目已经进入临床试验阶段。以（共同）通讯/第一作者在Science、Lancet Microbe、Nucleic Acids Research、Journal of Infection、Nature Communications、Journal of Virology等期刊发表SCI论文38篇，H因子26。参编高等教育出版社及科学出版社医学微生物学多本教材。获得华为最佳创新合作奖，主持国家自然科学基金新冠专项项目及面上项目、湖北省杰出青年基金、多个公司合作课题、武汉市卫健委应急科研专项、华中科技大学自主创新基金等多个项目，作为骨干成员参与多个国家重点研发计划、湖北省创新研究群体等。
