The theory beyond the standard model usually predicts new particles and interactions. The search for high-energy particles is usually carried out on large particle colliders (such as LHC). However, for some light particles that are weakly interacting with normal matter (and possibly dark matter candidates), tabletop scale precision experiments is very promising. Our group focus on the test of exotic interactions at micrometer range using the cantilever force sensor. We are currently performing experimental tests on Yukawa type force, axion-mediated spin-dependent forces and a spin- and velocity dependent forces. We also keep developing scanning probe microscopy instruments for such experiments.
