Dr. Shuguo Sun has long been focusing on Hippo signaling pathway and the initiation and development of lung cancer research. In 2000 to 2004, He earned the bachelor degree in Huazhong Agricultural University biology science. After graduating in 2004, he moved to Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences Key Laboratory of Molecular Developmental Biology as a graduate student, In Zhaohui Wang’s lab. During this period, mainly focusing on the regulation of cell proliferation. After graduating as Ph.D. in 2011, he joined the Kenneth Irvine Laboratory of Rutgers University in the United States for postdoctoral research. The main research directions were to study the regulation mechanism of Hippo signaling pathway using Drosophila melanogaster and mouse models. Together with colleagues, he dissected the mechanism how the mechanical tension Regulating Hippo signaling pathway and the relationship between its subcellular localization and activation. He also discovered that YAP is absolutely required for K-ras driven lung adenocarcinoma. In 2016, he was selected into the Thousand Youth Program. In May 2017, he joined Tongji Medical College Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
