Shihong Zhang, Professor, the deputy director of CCUS Research Institute of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), expert of the National CFB Technical Cooperation Network Expert Committee.

His research interest covers the high-efficiency thermochemical conversion technologies for solid fuel; mechanisms of fluidized bed pyrolysis, gasification, and combustion; energy recycling from biomass, waste, sludge, and other solid waste resources; energy saving and technologies for reducing emissions from industrial boiler / furnace (PM, NOx, SO2, organic pollutants).

He has undertaken more than 20 research projects including the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation. He has also completed more than 50 projects on energy saving and emission reduction applications for industrial boilers and kilns.

In the past few decades, he has developed a series of industrial fluidized bed boiler products of 10~130t / h and various high-power fluidized bed high-temperature flue gas furnaces. He has also completed more than 50 projects on energy saving and emission reduction applications for industrial boilers and kilns.

To date, he has published more than 200 academic journals and conference papers, and has published two monographs as co-authors. He has licensed more than 50 invention and utility model patents. His "Efficient, Low-Consumption Fluidized Bed Coal-fired Industrial Equipment Key Technologies and Applications" project won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. He also won two provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological inventions, two second-class scientific and technological progress awards, Hubei Province outstanding doctoral thesis award.
