We are interested in novel microbial enzymes invovled in nucleic acids metabolism and the development of enzymatic tools for molecular biotechnology and medicine.
Directions include but not limited to:
Novel single-subunit RNA polymerases--In vitro RNA synthesis;
Novel DNA polymerases--DNA amplification, sequencing and storage;
Novel reverse transcriptase--RNA sequencing and IVD;
Novel nucleases--DNA/RNA processing, modification and genome editing;
Unknown nucleic acids enzymes from bacteriophages and viruses--The dark matter to modern molecular biology, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
